Luxury Fatigue

Luxury once promised transcendence. A handbag was not just leather and stitching, it was a passport to aspiration, a symbol of having arrived. But today, the allure has thinned. The rituals of exclusivity, the boutique, the velvet rope, the whispered invitation, feel rehearsed, predictable, even tired. The fatigue is cultural as much as economic. A generation raised on transparency and access no longer equates scarcity with desire. Craft remains, but the urgency has vanished. Luxury, once the vanguard of aspiration, now risks becoming a relic, admired, but no longer pursued with conviction.
